Data roaming occurs when you use data connection outside of your carrier’s coverage zone. Your mobile network can make substantial charges for roaming outside of your network.

The CwSim card is a convenient and affordable way to have mobile data connectivity for your Apple or Android smart phone or tablet. You can save up to 99% on your home network provider’s roaming rates while traveling internationally, with no excess usage charges.

The most obvious way to minimise or eliminate data roaming fees is to use only Wi-Fi. Keep in mind that it is not a foolproof method for many of us. Our phones and tablets are often needed most while we are on the move, and not while we are sitting in an Internet café or a hotel lobby. Public Internet access is not secure, and you are much more prone to identity theft when using a public Internet connection than when using a mobile data service, such as Ezyroam.

We support the following:
Apple iPhones and iPads with a SIM card slot that are running iOS 8.1 or later.
Android devices (Smartphones and tablets with a SIM card slot) that are running Android 4.0.3 and up. some

  • Huawei e5573C

The SIM should also work on other devices that support ETSI TS 102 223 group standards. However we provide no guarantee nor support if you wish to test the SIM on these devices.

A mobile hotspot connects to 3G and/or 4G mobile networks, just like a smartphone does, and then shares its data connection with Wi-Fi-enabled devices, typically, between 1 and 5 devices or more at a time, depending on the device and the mobile network.

You can test your SIM by following these steps:

Check that the SIM card is installed correctly.
Check that your mobile device is turned on.
Check that your mobile device is receiving a mobile network signal.
Check that the Mobile data settings for your device are correct: – Mobile Data ON – Data Roaming ON – APN set to “globaldata” (without quotation marks)
Open a web browser on your device and enter www.ezyroam.com in the URL field.
If you can open our web page, your data service is working correctly.

Our data service works on 3G networks. Of course, the data speed will vary, depending on your location within the country / territory, the websites / applications being accessed, the time of day, the number of people using the local network, and other factors, such as the local terrain, weather, foliage, buildings, indoor use, signal strength, and customer equipment. We may have access to 4G LTE networks in the future as we sign up more mobile network providers.

You do it through the ComfortWay mobile application. If you haven't already got it then download it from the App Store or Play Store now. You should also view our Getting Started Guide.

Your CwSim package includes:

  • A Universal SIM card in Mini, Micro, and Nano sizes.

Note: The CwSim does not have any credit upon activation. You able to select the data package you wish to by adding credit yourself.

You can buy a CwSim plan using the ComfortWay app before you go to your destination country. You can also buy a data plan when you arrive in the country using the ComfortWay app. Depending on your location, if you do not have a Wi-Fi connection, the CwSim installed in your device may allow you to purchase a data plan if the the mobile device can connect to a mobile network. This is not guaranteed and you may still need to access a Wi-Fi network to select a plan.
The data plan will only begin after activation in the country you purchased the plan for, and the time to use the data only starts after you have activated a plan.

Ezyroam offers a 30 day full refund policy for the CwSim Only that has not been activated. We also require the scratch off password area on the SIM below the SIM ID to be remain completely in tact. You will need to pay for the return postage to us. Once we have received the SIM we will process a refund to the same account and your payment method. Ezyroam does not handle any refunds for credit. Any queries will need to be directed to ComfortWay.

No, the CwSim cannot be used with a locked phone. Please contact the provider of your phone to have it unlocked.

If you are unsure if your device is SIM locked, simply remove your existing SIM and insert another from a different network operator. For example, if you're in Australia and use use Telstra, you could try putting an Optus or Vodafone SIM card in. If it connects to the other network then your device is unlocked.

For Android devices:

  • Enter Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Name > New APN
  • In the input fields:
    • Name: Ezyroam
    • APN: globaldata
    • Username: <leave blank>
    • Password: <leave blank>
  • Save the changes
  • Make “Ezyroam” your default APN

For Apple devices:

  • Go to Settings > cellular > cellular data network
  • Tap the Mobile Data APN field and enter “globaldata” (without quotation marks). The setting will be saved automatically.

Please check the ComfortWay website for the latest information regarding hot spot usage.

Open the ComfortWay smartphone app. You will be able to see your current data balance on the home screen. Note there may be a delay of up to 24 hours for data usage to appear.

The CwSim is a data-only service, and does not support telephone calls or SMS messaging. However, you can make voice calls with VoIP platforms, such as Skype, Viber, Facetime or Facebook Messenger.

Each new CwSim currently does not include any data upon activation. This allows for you to select a plan depending on your requirements.

Simply log into your ComfortWay account using the ComfortWay app, and add a new data plan to continue using CwSim for additional Mobile Data. Visa, MasterCard and PayPal are accepted.

The CwSim works with the major carriers worldwide to make sure that you receive the best service available. Orders are generally sent from our depot the next business day. Standard orders with free shipping are send by Australia Post. Please allow 5 - 10 working days for delivery.
